Kyle Bice is a portrait and unit stills photographer (IATSE Local 600).  Kyle splits his time between his home studio in Chicago and traveling across the country shooting images for film and television and capturing portraits of executives and medical professionals.

A 2002 graduate of the American Academy of Art with a BFA in oil painting, Kyle spent over a decade as a commercial illustrator before leaving the drawing table in 2016 to rediscover one of his earliest passions, photography.  Kyle’s background in fine art, illustration, and art history inspire the timeless spirit of his photos.

In 2023 Kyle joined IATSE as a Unit Stills Photographer in the Local 600. Notable recent production work include The Emperor of Ocean Park from MGM+, starring Academy Award Winner Forest Whitaker, The Up and Comer starring Noah Emmerich, ABC's What Would You Do, and Legacy List with Matt Paxton for PBS.

Kyle is also the co-founder of This Craft Nation, a multi-media platform for the continual investigation and exploration of the modern-day craft renaissance. Most recently, This Craft Nation proudly produced a variety of materials for Farm Aid, including documentary images for the parent organization and the annual festival concert.

Testimonials from past and current clients:

“Kyle was incredibly professional and upfront about the portrait process. Very attentive and creative with posing, plus he provided his edits earlier than what he quoted. Highly recommend to anyone looking for any type of portrait work. ”

Jenalee S. (Account Project Manager)

“Anytime I need fresh portraits, I immediately think of Kyle! It doesn’t look like it in the final shots, but I’ve got some wicked camera shyness (it’s why I’m a podcaster, not a YouTuber!). Anytime I work with him, I feel super relaxed and I find it gets easier to loosen up and take more risks as the shoot progresses. Kyle truly puts such care and attention into framing and lighting the shots. The edits come through super fast and they’re truly stunning and so much of my personality comes through. Look no further than Kyle Bice for your portrait needs - you’ll be in excellent hands. ”

Emmy C-G (Storyteller + Death Doula)

“If you want a good photo of yourself, work with a good photographer - and Kyle Bice is just that! Whether your production needs unit stills, BTS images, or key art, Kyle's your guy! He's based in Chicago, but travels wherever needed”

About Kyle

“Kyle was an absolute pleasure to work with and has a fantastic eye for photography. He’s ultra-responsive and superbly professional. From the very beginning, I felt more comfortable with each passing click of his camera. The casual conversation was vital in breaking down any anxiety about being in front of a camera. Whether posed or candid, Kyle will make you stare at your image in disbelief, then immediately smile with a giant grin of approval!”

Carl W. (Studio Manager)

“I generally despise seeing myself in pictures. Kyle managed to not only capture a photo I liked, he made me look like a fairly successful mafia don”

Christian H. (Program Development & Capture Manager)
